Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Relationship Timeline

It's no secret that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce—or "Traylor" or "Swelce" as the Swifties call them–were the most talked-about couple of 2023 and 2024. As for 2025? So far, the trend continues.

According to a source at  Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended the singer's Eras Tour concert and attempted to give her his phone number via a friendship bracelet back in July of 2023. He failed, but luckily, he had someone on the inside "playing Cupid."

“There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: 'Yo! Did you know he was coming?' I had somebody playing Cupid," Kelce said during an interview with WSJ. Magazine. 

He then revealed Taylor contacted him directly, adding, “She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out." 

Despite not dating for very long, the pop star and football player's romance escalated quickly following that fateful night. They've shared plenty of first from meeting the parents and being each other's biggest cheerleaders to attending Patrick Mahomes's charity gala. Here's a complete look back at their relationship so far.  

July 8, 2023: Travis Kelce attends Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and tries to give her his phone number. 

Swift and Kelce's romance kicked off at her Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in July. The Chief's player New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce from his private box and exchanging friendship bracelets with fans, and he even made a special one for Taylor with his phone number on it.

Unfortunately for Travis, he wasn't able to deliver it to her at the show. "I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," Kelce said on his podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. He added, "If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it."

Swift later revealed that they started "hanging out" shortly after Kelce adorably put her "on blast."

September 20, 2023: Travis Kelce's brother Jason confirms the NFL star and Taylor Swift are dating.

Following weeks of dating rumors, Travis Kelce's older brother Jason fanned the flames by saying that the speculation was "100 percent true."

When asked about how Travis and Taylor were doing during an interview on the straight from the runway, complete with a, the Philadelphia Eagles star told the hosts that while he tries to stay out of his brother's love life, he thinks the rumor mill is "all 100% true," before quickly clarifying: "No, I'm joking, I don't know what's happening."

September 24, 2023: Taylor Swift accepts Travis Kelce's invitation to see the Chiefs.

Kelce invited Swift to watch him play at Arrowhead Stadium, telling the singer verbatim, "I've seen you rock the stage at Arrowhead [Stadium]. You might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead and see which one's a little more lit."

To everyone's surprise, she actually accepted his offer and was spotted in the stands (dressed in full Chiefs colors) with his mom, Donna Kelce, to see Travis and his teammates face off against the Chicago Bears.

October 1, 2023: Taylor Swift attends her second Chiefs game with her squad.

A week later, Swift was back for a second round of Sunday night football — and this time, she brought along a few squad members to help her cheer on Kelce, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, and Sabrina Carpenter.

October 14, 2023: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce hard-launch their relationship at the SNL afterparty.

Swift attended yet another one of Kelce's games dressed in Chiefs' red, but this time, she also debuted a fashion Easter egg. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Swift accessorized her vintage-inspired oversized KC sweatshirt with a friendship bracelet featuring Kelce's jersey number, 87.

October 23, 2023: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce go Instagram official with a PDA-filled photo.

Swift celebrated National Tight End Day by going Instagram official with Kelce. The couple posed for a few sweet snaps with Travis's teammate, Mecole Hardman Jr., and his girlfriend, Chariah Gordon, who shared the shots on Instagram. In the second snap of the slideshow, Swift is pictured planting a kiss on Travis's cheek while he smiles for the camera.

November 10, 2023: Travis Kelce has dinner with Taylor Swift and her dad in Argentina. 

The couple officially reached the "meet the parents" stage in their relationship when Kelce had dinner with Swift and her dad, Scott, in Argentina during the South American leg of her Eras Tour. The trio reportedly enjoyed their meal in a private room at Elena, a restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel in Buenos Aires — and things reportedly went well, with a source at People revealing that Taylor and Travis "left holding hands" and that the NFL star "was beaming." 

November 20, 2023: Travis Kelce says Taylor Swift's intelligence is "f—ing mind-blowing."

During a wide-ranging interview with WSJ. Magazine, Travis opened up about his relationship with Taylor and what he admires most about her.

“I’ve never been a man of words. Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been fucking mind-blowing,” he shared. “I’m learning every day.” He also complimented her songwriting ability, revealing his favorite Swift lyric. “Blank Space was one I wanted to hear live for sure. I could make a bad guy good for the weekend. That’s a helluva line,” Kelce told the outlet.

December 3, 2023: Taylor Swift cheers on Travis Kelce at the Packers-Chiefs game.

Swift cheered Kelce on in style during the Chiefs-Packers game alongside Brittany Mahomes (the wife of KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes), wearing a red teddy bear coat and a black mock-neck sweater.

December 6, 2023: Taylor Swift talks publicly about Travis Kelce for the first time and reveals the timeline of their relationship. 

During her cover story with Time Magazine, Swift spoke out about her relationship with Kelce for the first time and confirmed their exact dating timeline in the process.

Recalling how Travis called her out on his podcast back in July, Taylor revealed that they started seeing each other soon after. “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she said during her Time Person of the Year interview. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other."

She continued, "By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date. When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there, and we don’t care. The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

December 17, 2023: Taylor Swift supports Travis Kelce in Massachusetts.

Reunited, and it feels so good. After Kelce had to surrender Swift’s big birthday fête due to his football schedule, the two met up in Massachusetts. The singer capped off her big week by traveling to New England to watch her man and the rest of the Chiefs take on the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

She, of course, repped Kelce in a gray Chiefs crewneck and a white-and-red beanie, and brought her posse along with her, including her dad, Scott, and friends Ashley Avignone, Alana Haim, and Brittany Mahomes.

December 25, 2023: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce spend Christmas together.

A few months in, and Swift and Kelce are collecting all of their first milestones as a couple, including their first holiday season together. The pop star brought her jolly spirit to Kelce’s Christmas Day football game against the Las Vegas Raiders, and she fittingly dressed the part. Looking as festive as ever, Swift wore a black plaid skirt, bright red sweater, and Santa hat emblazoned with her man’s number, 87, across the front.

December 31, 2023: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ring in 2024.

Swift and Kelce brought their romance into 2024. The couple counted down to the new year and celebrated with a passionate kiss at a private party in Kansas City surrounded by friends and family.

January 13, 2024: Taylor Swift supports Travis Kelce at his playoff game against the Miami Dolphins

Swift continued to support Kelce in the postseason, and did it in style. For the Chiefs playoff game against the Miami Dolphins, Swift sported a custom red puffer jacket emblazoned with her man’s name and jersey number, 87, all over it, along with the words “Chiefs Kingdom.” The piece was designed by fellow WAG Kristin Jusczyk, who is married to San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle.

During the game, Swift enjoyed some bonding time with Kelce’s mom, Donna, as the two sat next to each other, along with Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick.

January 21, 2024: Travis Kelce flashes Taylor Swift a heart gesture during his game.

Kelce looked like the proudest boyfriend after making a touchdown during the AFC divisional playoff game between the Chiefs and Buffalo Bills in upstate New York. Taking a page from his girlfriend’s book, he celebrated his big score by flashing Swift her signature hand heart gesture. Swift, who was watching from the VIP box, blew the tight end a kiss in return.

January 28, 2024: Taylor Swift rushes the field to give Travis Kelce a big kiss.

The pictures of Swift and Kelce after the Chiefs playoff win over the Baltimore Ravens might be their cutest photos to date. The team’s victory meant Kansas City would play in the Super Bowl for the second year in a row—and the Swifties would, of course, be along for the ride.

To celebrate her beau’s big moment, Swift rushed the field and met Kelce with a huge tearful kiss and hug. In another moment, Kelce is captured telling Swift, “I love you! So much it’s not even funny.” To which she responds, “I love you, too. I’ve never been so proud, ever!”

During a secret birthday dinner on February 2, Kelce talked about the moment, saying, “It’s another memory in the journey that we get to cherish, man. I’m fortunate that I got all the support I need off the field. It gives me a reason to play that much harder.” 

February 11, 2024: Taylor and Travis smooch after his Super Bowl win

Swift travels 13 hours from Tokyo, where she was performing a show, to Las Vegas, to support Kelce at Super Bowl LVIII. After the Chiefs clinched their huge win in overtime, 25-22, she finds him on the field and plants a big congratulatory kiss on his lips. They pack on some more adorable PDA later at the after-party, smooching and serenading one another with Swift’s romantic hit “Love Story.”

February 23, 2024: Travis Kelce attends Taylor Swift’s concert in Australia

Kelce returns Swift's gesture of support by traveling to Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia, to watch her show. He looked like a man in love in the crowd, wearing a stack of friendship bracelets and an ear-to-ear grin. Swift greeted her man after the show with a big hug and kiss.

Kelce later shared on an episode of his podcast New Heights (which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason) that they enjoyed a sweet zoo date while they were in the land down under, and also gave his sweetheart a cute shout out. He noted that when he landed in Australia, he was met by a swarm of cameras and helicopters. “They helicoptered us! Well, not us—Taylor," he said. "This is all because Taylor is the biggest and the best thing possible.”

March 8, 2024: Taylor Swift gives Travis Kelce an adorable shout out during her concert.

Swift made the crowd go wild when she remixed her lyrics and sang "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me," replacing the original lyric screen with Chiefs. Kelce was captured looking so giddy at the shout out, smiling wide and dancing.

March 10, 2024: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce attend Madonna’s Oscars after-party.

Swift and Kelce skipped their red carpet debut at the Academy Awards ceremony but made a couples appearance at Madonna’s lavish Oscars bash, known as “The Party.” Unfortunately, per the "Material Girl" singer's policy, there were no photos allowed, but Page Six confirmed the pair did show face.

March 18, 2024: Swelce goes on vacation.

After a Super Bowl victory, Grammy win, and record-breaking tour season, Swift and Kelce were overdue for a relaxing vacation, which is exactly what they enjoyed. The two were spotted in the Bahamas getting their tan on.

April 2, 2024: Travis Kelce says he is very happy.

We surmise a second Super Bowl ring and a relationship with the biggest pop star in the world might have something to do with Kelce's big smile and high spirits. He told People, “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m a guy that some people say is glass half full, half empty. And my glass is all the way full. It’s all the way full. I’m oozing life right now.”

April 13, 2024: Swelce makes a surprise appearance at Coachella.

The hottest celebrity It couple sure knows how to give the people what they want. Swift and Kelce made a surprise appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival—and they packed on the PDA. In several photos and videos from the day, Swelce is seen holding hands, cuddling, and kissing; at one point, Kelce also lifts Swift up by the waist. In a cute nod to her man, the singer wore a baseball cap with New Heights (the name of Kelce's podcast) written across the front.

April 27, 2024: Swelce attends Patrick Mahomes’ charity gala.

Swift and Kelce have yet to make their red carpet debut, but they got close when they gave black tie couples dressing a spin at Patrick Mahomes's charity gala in Las Vegas. Kelce looked suave in a navy blue suit, while Swift brought the glamor in an olive green gown with a back cut out. And it wouldn't be a Traylor moment without some adorable PDA, which they, of course, delivered. In a video posted to X (formerly known as Twitter), the pair are seen holding hands as Kelce leads Swift through the room.

May 4, 2024: Travis Kelce attends the Kentucky Derby.

Contrary to popular belief, the most notable thing about Kelce’s visit to the Kentucky Derby wasn’t his fedora; it was the very extravagant gift he picked up for his girlfriend. A few days later, the NFL player presented the pop superstar with a beautiful horseshoe necklace engraved with the message “wishing you luck”. 

May 12, 2024: Travis Kelce parties in Paris for Taylor Swift's 87th Eras Tour show.

Kelce was spotted at Swift's Paris, France Eras tour show on Sunday, May 12, vibing alongside friends Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper. In true golden retriever boyfriend fashion, he danced his heart out. (Psst: Kelce's jersey number is 87. Swifties, make of that what you will). 

May 15, 2024: Swelce goes on holiday in Europe.

After Swift's show in Paris, France and just before her next tour stop in Stockholm, Sweden, the couple were spotted vacationing in Lake Como, Italy. In photos, People captured the two walking around together, holding hands, and generally committing a lot of PDA. Later, Kelce revealed his favorite part of the couple's Euro getaway: her Eras tour show in Paris.

June 13, 2024: Swift joins the IG celebration for Kelce's Super Bowl ring ceremony.

While Swift couldn't quite make it in person to celebrate her boyfriend's Super Bowl ring ceremony, she did the next best thing: joined it via Instagram. On Thursday, June 13, the star tuned in as Chariah Gordon—partner to Kelce's teammate Mecole Hardman—livestreamed the event. On display: Kelce's third Super Bowl ring, encrusted with a whopping 528 diamonds and 38 rubies.

Though it was probably past Swift's bedtime, she cheered him on via the comments, saying, “YESSSSSS,” "CONGRATULATIONS," “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH," and “JOINING THE PARTY FROM LIVERPOOL LETS GOOOOOOO.”

June 23, 2024: Travis Kelce joins Taylor Swift on stage in London.

Swift's weekend at Wembley Stadium was made extra special on Sunday night by a surprise guest: her boyfriend. Kelce made his Eras tour debut wearing a suit and top hat, appearing for the new portion of the show dedicated to The Tortured Poets Department. After gallantly carrying his girlfriend across the stage, he stuck around with the other dancers to gas Swift up before she sang "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

July 6, 2024: Travis Kelce tears up at Taylor Swift's Amsterdam Eras tour show.

Kelce continued his Euro summer with another Eras tour double header—this time in Amsterdam—which he attended on July 5 and 6. On the latter night, Swift surprised him with a new mashup of "Mary's Song,” "So High School," and "Everything Has Changed”. Several references later—including Kelce's jersey number, 87, and the couple's shared birth year, 1989—and suddenly the NFL star was looking pretty emotional.

"I'll be 87, you'll be 89," Swift sang, as Kelce wiped tears from his eyes. "I'll still look at you like the stars that shine / In the sky, oh my my my.”

The couple left the show together and Swift later thanked Amsterdam for "three magical nights."

July 17, 2024: Travis Kelce attends his 13th Eras tour show.

Slated to return to the U.S. for training camp in a matter of days, Kelce squeezed in one last Eras tour show to support his girlfriend, this time in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The concert just so happened to be Kelce's 13th Eras tour show, which is, of course, Swift's lucky number.

"I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks," Swift explained on MTV News in 2015. "My first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I've won an award I've been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section, or row M, which is the 13th letter. Basically, whenever a 13 comes up in my life, it's a good thing."

Swift made sure to shoutout Kelce during the show with a surprise mashup, which ended with another nod to the NFL star:  "And isn't it just so pretty to think / All along there was some / Invisible string / Tying you to me / Superstar."

August 3, 2024: Travis Kelce's rep shuts down the engagement rumors.

While rumors of a pending proposal continued to dog the couple, Kelce's rep finally responded, saying that there weren't "any official engagement plans in place." The statement echoed an US Weekly article from May which quoted multiple inside sources, all of whom said much of the same.

“Travis has no plans on proposing to Taylor anytime soon," they told the outlet. "It’s not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration. He's just not there yet."

August 14, 2024: Patrick Mahomes claims Travis Kelce is growing out his hair for Taylor Swift.

September 5, 2024: Taylor Swift cheers on Travis Kelce at his season opener.

Swift was all smiles as she celebrated a win for Kelce's team, the Kansas City Chiefs, in their season opener on Thursday night. Spotted talking Chariah Gordon, the fiancé of Kelce's teammate Mecole Hardman Jr., Swift summed it up nicely: "I'm feeling fantastic!"

The couple later left the stadium holding hands, Kansas City Chiefs.

“They are so in love,” a source told Us Weekly, adding, “[Their] friends hope an engagement is a sure thing in the future."

September 8, 2024: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce attend the U.S. Open.

Following his team's Thursday night win, Swift and Kelce spent the weekend in New York City, where they made their relationship U.S. Open official with a visit to Flushing Meadows for the men's singles final. The couple was joined by Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, conveniently quashing the feud rumors that had plagued the two women since Thursday, when they sat apart at the Chief game.

October 6, 2024: Taylor Swift celebrates Travis Kelce with a Michelle Obama Shares Her Honest Thoughts on Couples Therapy Amid Divorce Rumors.

On the eve of her return to Arrowhead Stadium, Swift joined a small group of friends and family for a Michelle Obama Shares Her Honest Thoughts on Couples Therapy Amid Divorce Rumors to celebrate Kelce's 25th at Noka, a sushi restaurant in Kansas City. According to a source who spoke to Page Six, the party was an "early night" and an "intimate affair," given that the Chiefs had a game the very next day.

October 7, 2024: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce return to Arrowhead Stadium in matching outfits.

After skipping out on a handful of Kelce's recent football games, Swift made her triumphant return to Arrowhead Stadium in a secret birthday dinner from Vivienne Westwood. The look just so happened to coordinate with Kelce's own take on plaid (who arrived at the game in a subtle plaid button-up) and echoed another recent plaid look by Swift (worn in September to the MTV Video Music Awards).

October 14, 2024: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce go on a date to Yankee Stadium.

The couple took advantage of Kelce's bye-week by heading to New York City for a was one I wanted to hear live for sure.  to support the Guardians in their match-up against the Yankees. Both Swift and Kelce wore casual outfits for the date, and each donned a black baseball cap to complete their looks. “Taylor Swift attends game with her potential future husband in my dreams Travis Kelce,” MLB wrote in its TikTok video. “You two make me suspect in love. I can’t stop crying. Never change. ILYSM #Tayvis.” The caption continued, "is anyone else sweating profusely rn no just me ok cool."

October 20, 2024: Taylor Swift gives Travis Kelce an Eras tour shoutout.

Kelce may have returned to the football field, but that didn't stop Swift from mentioning him at her sold-out Eras tour show in Miami. Switching out the lyrics "Karma is the guy on the screen" to "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me," the pop star paid homage to her boyfriend, who is currently on a six game winning streak. The surprise switch was extra special given that Swift typically only changes the lyrics when Kelce is actually at the concert.

“Well I had all the FOMO in the world with the entire family and a lot of our friends being there,” Kelce admitted a few days later on a new episode of his podcast. “I had a bunch of friends that were also down by the stage, that had been to a few shows overseas, and they were saying the same thing that you're saying. The Miami stadium was just on another level.”

October 27, 2024: Taylor Swift gives a subtle shoutout to Travis Kelce on stage.

Swift continued her Eras tour with a stop at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, where she appeared to give a subtle nod to Kelce with a few football-coded gestures: mimicking his first down celebration pose (pointing her index finger in the air), and then holding up three fingers and kissing them (which many interpreted as a hopeful manifestation of a third Super Bowl for the Chiefs). A source told People that the couple Amanda Kloots and Justin Gimelstob Make Their Red Carpet Debut as a Very New Couple with the Swifts—including Taylor's mom Andrea and dad Scott—hosting the Kelce family in Nashville. "Taylor and Travis had a great Thanksgiving together with their families," the insider shared, before recalling how the pop star was in South America for her Eras Tour last year. They added, "It's the first Thanksgiving they celebrated together."

The source continued: "Taylor and her family were excited to host the Kelces this year. [Travis' brother] Jason was there with his family and kids too. It was very festive and special."

November 29, 2024: Taylor Swift debuts a new Travis Kelce-coded necklace.

The following day, the singer returned to the football field to cheer on Kelce in his match-up against the Las Vegas Raiders. She paired a red Louis Vuitton half-zip with a pair of black skinny jeans, but the cherry on top was her new jewelry: namely, a custom diamond necklace with the number "87" on it—a sweet reference to Kelce’s jersey number.

December 12, 2024: The couple celebrates Taylor Swift's 35th birthday "just them two."

Following the final show of her Eras Tour on December 8, Kelce and Swift rang in her 35th birthday in private “just them two,” according to Page Six–and the athlete reportedly made sure that his girlfriend felt spoiled. “He got her a ton of gifts,” the insider said, adding that while attendance at the Chiefs party was “mandatory,” he prioritized leaving early “to go be with Taylor for her birthday.”

December 27, 2024: Taylor Swift is reportedly making Nashville her "home base" to be closer to Travis Kelce.
