Simone Cometti, 45 years old, from Switzerland, an avid angler since childhood, has been fly fishing since he was 14 years old, when he used to go to the river by bike or moped. The decision to start fly fishing came quite early, with catching for its own sake quickly taking a back seat in favour of other important aspects of fly fishing, especially respect for the fish, knowledge and beauty of the surroundings, sharing and having fun with friends, and the constant and endless opportunity to learn from every situation and every person, regardless of where you are or who you are with.

His friends jokingly call him a “nerd” because he has a great passion for casting. His greatest pleasure is always trying new things and trying to solve every fishing situation with creative and effective solutions. He doesn't always succeed...but that's what makes fly fishing fun, exciting, and stimulating. He has been an instructor at SIM Suisse since 2014 and finds teaching to be one of the most satisfying aspects because it allows people to improve and enjoy fly fishing to the fullest.

He particularly enjoys dry fly fishing for trout and grayling, in all those environments and waters that are the natural habitat of these fish.
