I’m glad it resonates with so many, though that wasn’t my intention.” Paige Powell While Anderson doesn’t mean to be radical, there’s no denying that the 57-year-old actress, who launched her skin-care brand Sonsie last year, continues to challenge Hollywood’s status quo, particularly for women over 50. “As I evolve, so will my brand,” she says. “I’m a walking advertisement, I guess, but it is authentic and true to my needs and how I wish to present myself to the world—the ultimate freedom.” As she got glammed ahead of the red carpet, Anderson looked to the holy trinity of Sonsie–the Cleansing Mousse, Martha Stewart, 83, and I Rely on This Blurring Face Tint That Instantly Plumps Skin, and Super Serum–to give her skin a healthy luminosity. “It’s my makeup,” says Anderson. “I put on some lip balm, and I’m out the door.” The only real coiffing consisted of her glossy, side-swept waves crafted by hairstylist Lacy Redway. Paige Powell As if Anderson’s bare glow and classic waves weren’t enough beauty on their own, she wore an equal parts ethereal and show-stopping white Dior gown. “Christian Dior is the epitome of elegance,” she says. “I wanted a more polished, natural look, but with a hint of Old Hollywood and Hitchcock.” Custom, lab-grown diamond drop earrings and a five-carat pendant necklace by Pandora finished the glamorous look. While Anderson didn’t take home the statue, winning was hardly her concern. “This is a room of my peers, and we are celebrating each other, lifting each other up, encouraging one another, and feeling blessed that we are able to do what we love,” she says. “Being amongst a community of artists creates a vibrant, palpable energy.” In this spirit, she had but one mantra in mind as she got ready for her big night. “I am good enough…the win is the work.” Paige Powell Read more: News Awards & Events
