Why Stassi Schroeder Really Decided to Return to Reality TV in Lisa Vanderpump's Show

Stassi Shroeder is joining Lisa Vanderpumps new reality TV show Vanderpump Rules universe before leaving the show in 2020, first making an appearance with then-boyfriend Jax Taylor on Season 1 along with original cast members Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz, and Scheana Shay. While the star has been busy with the relaunch of her Straight Up With Stassi podcast, Schroeder just revealed that she’s coming back to her reality TV roots—and she’s reuniting with Lisa Vanderpump on screen so soon.

It’s the only talent I feel like I have actually, and when Lisa said, come do this with her, so I’m like, ‘Oh with Lisa and then in Italy…I get to bring my kids, I get to bring my family, medieval castle, it’s just everything.”

Vanderpump quipped that Schroeder wasn’t hard to convince, adding, “Stassi loved Italy anyway. She got married in Italy and you’ve always wanted to live there. Well you’re going to see that story play out.”

I know I've been away for so long, but I feel like I've been doing reality TV since I was 16 years old, that it feels more right to me when I'm shooting something.”

Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder, who is joining Vanderpump Villa Vanderpump Villa to see Schroeder’s storyline unfold, but the former co-stars also opened up about how their dynamic is “different” now than it was during their Vanderpump Rules days.

“I thought that there was also a different energy between us because prior to that, I mean it's many years ago, I was always her boss and chastising her,” Vanderpump told the publication. “So to actually come into a reality television [setting] with a different equation, it felt kind of like we could be this close together.”

Schroeder agreed that it was “way less stressful” this time around, but some things still hold true. “There is always that element of, Lisa will always be somebody who I hope to impress, who I hope is proud of me and my choices," she shared.
