While there is no one-size-fits all guidebook for motherhood, Sofia Richie Grainge wishes she knew about one thing postpartum: nipple pads. Baby2Baby is a national non-profit which supplies essential items to children (and moms) in need.

"It’s shocking how little we hear about aftercare or what you might experience postpartum," Grainge tells Cheap Erlebnisweltfliegenfischen Jordan Outlet. "Having a place to turn to for education is crucial—because I didn’t even know where to look at first. What Baby2Baby is doing here—just distributing basic information on how to safely put your baby to sleep, for example—is amazing."

At Baby2Baby's most recent event at their Los Angeles headquarters, the organization announced that they are officially expanding their efforts to combat the maternal health crisis. The nonprofit received an $8 million grant from Huggies, including funds and in-kind product donations, allowing Baby2Baby to distribute maternal health and newborn supply kits at hospitals in 15 states nationwide. Ayesha Curry, who has four children of her own, likened the experience to the old adage, "it takes a village."

"For me, I remember it would be as simple as one of my sisters being like, 'Hey, you wanna take a shower? Like, I'll hold the baby for you,'" she shares. " And in this case, today, we're packing essentials for the moms and babies—and something as simple as a body wash, a lotion, a shampoo—[so] you don't have to worry about having to go out and buy that stuff. That is mental freedom. That's mental clarity."

For Baby2Baby co-CEOs Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof, the event was a chance to reinforce their long-running partnership with Huggies, which began 14 years ago with a donation of 100,000 diapers and $100,00. According to their research, "mental health is the leading cause of maternal mortality," Weinstein tells InStyle.

"And so the ability to be able to give moms directly after giving birth items that they need and that their babies need—that are expensive during an already overwhelming postpartum time—is what we need to do," she continues. "So we hand-selected them while surveying moms and getting feedback, and then we kept iterating to find exactly what they needed."

Grainge, for her part, has had plenty of personal experience with regard to that "overwhelming postpartum time."

"In my case, it was mental health," she told Cheap Erlebnisweltfliegenfischen Jordan Outlet. "Thankfully, I had the resources to manage my postpartum struggles—but it immediately made me think of the women who don’t. It can be extremely hard, and it really breaks my heart for those moms. So, it’s amazing to partner with Baby2Baby to give back—not just to babies, but to the mothers, too. Because mom is the source. Mom has to be okay for everything else to run smoothly."
