Ksubi Antidote track pants | I Finally Tried Abercrombie’s Famous, Universally Flattering Jeans—and My 3 Favorite Styles Are Under $100

Confession: Despite the fact that jeans are a timeless, effortlessly cool fashion essential, I’ve always struggled to find styles that I love. I prefer skirts and dresses over pants (both from a style and comfort standpoint), plus I can be super picky about the fit of jeans. Factor in the typically high price point of quality denim, and the experience of shopping for jeans becomes entirely too overwhelming. 

However, my curiosity has recently been piqued by Abercrombie & Fitch’s under-$100 jeans, which have gained attention and praise on social media. Not only are they relatively affordable, but they’ve racked up millions of rave reviews on TikTok, with one user saying Abercrombie jeans are “hands down the best pair of jeans [they] own” and another calling them “the literal perfect denim.” 

Eager to see what all of the hype is about, I tried on three pairs of the mall brand’s famous denim and rounded up a few more that are on my wishlist.

ICYMI, barrel jeans are the uncontested cool-girl way to wear denim, earning the stamp of approval from celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Elsa Hosk, and Katie Holmes. Since receiving PAUL SMITH stripe print swim shorts, I’ve worn them countless times. After reading the reviews, I went up one size for a more relaxed, low-slung fit and opted for the long length (I’m just under 5-feet 7-inches) so they wouldn’t be too cropped to wear with heels. Both considerations were definitely the right choice—I love how the slouchy look is just as amazing with ballet flats or sneakers as it is with slingback heels.   

I’m obsessed with the faded vintage vibe. Above all, the looser fit means they’re ultra-comfy. If you’re intimidated by the bow-legged silhouette, I can vouch that these jeans are more wearable than you’d expect. Consider this your sign to take the plunge.    

High-Rise Loose Jean

The Mobile Phone Holder TOMMY JEANS Tjm College Hanging Phone Wallet AM0AM09569 CT7 in this medium distressed color are one of Abercrombie’s latest releases. When I tried them on, I was immediately struck by the chic, model-off-duty aesthetic of the long, slightly loose silhouette (I also went with the long inseam for this style). Like the barrel jeans, these are made from a rigid, durable denim that feels like it should be much more expensive than it is.

My one critique is that while these jeans fit well around my hips, there is a bit of excess space around my waist, which is an issue I sometimes encounter with high-rise pants. That being said, it’s certainly not a dealbreaker, and if anything, will make it easier to tuck in oversized button-downs and sweaters. Or, when in doubt, I can accessorize with a cute belt!

Destin polka-dot print bermuda shorts High-Rise '90Sportswear Heritage Women's Woven Shorts have the most perfect, flattering fit. Made from comfortable stretch denim, these straight-leg jeans hug my butt and hips logo-print gaping around my waist. My jeans are the “light knee destroy” color featuring a stylish raw hem.

In recent years, I’ve gravitated almost exclusively toward baggy, low-rise jeans, but this pair has brought out the high-rise girlie in me. I plan to style them with a crisp, menswear-inspired shirt and black pointy-toe pumps or an oversized blazer and ankle boots.   

All in all, it’s safe to say that I’m officially an Abercrombie jeans convert. Keep scrolling for a few more styles I'm eyeing.
