Whoopi Goldberg Collapsed on 'The View' When Asked About Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's Divorce She made her feelings known. The topic of the famous couple's split ignited an impassioned debate on the March 27 episode of the talk show, but as the hosts continued to talk about their love story, Goldberg slowly (and noticeably) became less and less interested. Getty Images There was only one person at The View roundtable who was upset about the pair’s split: Sunny Hostin. She felt the relationship was “supposed to be true love between Ben and JLo,” prompting a passionate response from her co-hosts. Goldberg shot back, saying, “No, you said it was true love. You're the only one who believed that!" Getty Images Hostin continued to double down on her belief that the two were meant for each other, saying, "I think maybe it was true love. And then just something happened." Joy Behar then voiced her dissent, saying “Oh please,” while Goldberg quietly disengaged, putting her head down on the table. The conversation continued as Sara Haines tried to get Goldberg off the table until the ladies moved on to a commercial break. Getty Images Affleck did prove Hostin’s theory wrong in his British GQ cover story when he spoke about the divorce, claiming that there was no big dramatic moment leading to the separation. “There’s a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes or something," he said in the interview. "But honestly, [...] the truth is much more quotidian than probably people would believe or would be interesting." He added, “There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue. There is no, 'This is what happened.'" Read more: News Entertainment
