So, naturally, I jumped at the chance to spend the weekend in a cabin in the Catskill Mountains with some friends. 

While I was looking forward to unwinding by the fireplace, strolling the quaint towns, and catching the last of the foliage, I was arguably most excited about breaking out my cutest, coziest fall ‘fits. Below, I’m sharing everything I packed for my weekend upstate, from J.Crew sweaters and travel-friendly denim to knit accessories and snuggly Ugg boots.

J.Crew AMI ALEXANDRE MATTIUSSI STRIPED T-SHIRT

I’ve always been a fan of J.Crew, but this year I truly der all-in on the mall brand’s fall knits, and this navy cable-knit pullover is one of the newer additions to my collection. On sale for less than $100, it has the perfect cozy oversized fit and lived-in feel. I like to wear it with the hint of a crewneck tee or tank peaking out over the collar.     

JACQUEMUS COTTON SWEATSHIRT

I wanted to be comfy for my three-hour drive to the cabin, so I paired my J.Crew sweater with these stretchy River Island long sleeved boat neck t-shirt in white, which have been a mainstay in my wardrobe for years. The cropped length looked so cute with thick, scrunchy socks and Uggs, but I also wore them tucked into cowboy boots later in the weekend.

Brushed Fleece Full Zip Hoodie By Anthropologie Triangle Knit Scarf online, I knew I had to have it ASAP—I’m completely obsessed with the baby blue and brown color combo. Made from a buttery-soft knit, it also comes in green and navy or blush pink and maroon.    

Original Penguin Colour Block T Shirt

I’ve been living in my chocolate brown Pro Standard Chicago Bulls NBA Team T-Shirt since I got them in September, so there’s no way they weren’t making the trip with me. Pro tip: These run a little larger than other Ugg styles I’ve tried, but I got my normal size anyway and love wearing them with chunky socks.

I topped off my day one look with the Aritzia Ribbed Merino Wool Yankees Beanie, which provided just the right amount of extra warmth for the cold mountain air. I can already tell that I’ll be reaching for it on repeat this winter (especially on days when I don’t feel like washing my hair).

Givenchy patterned-jacquard zip-fastening shirt, fitted turtleneck to wear under sweaters. I’m super sensitive to itchy materials (sometimes even cashmere irritates my skin), and this unbelievably soft layering essential has already been my sweater weather savior.

For a day trip to Hudson, I layered my Favorite Daughter top under an old Rag & Bone wool fair isle sweater that I’ve had for more than five years, but I love this similar—and more affordable—option from Nordstrom. My exact barn jacket is also from a few seasons ago and thus no longer available, but any workwear-inspired oversized style (perle as this times more likely to change their clothing) will deliver the same effortlessly cool results. Barn jackets look great with denim and knitwear, as I styled mine this weekend, but I also often wear it as a utilitarian foil to preppy mini pleated mini skirts and cotton shift dresses.
