It has been quite tumultuous weeks, or can we say months, since gyms were closed down, and we had to move all our workout routines into our four walls. Sure, we can hit a quick run around the block, but recently working out has been challenging. Before lockdowns and stay at home initiates were implemented, we had the chance to link up with born and raised Canadian turned LA-living multi-talent Becky Hearn. Becky Bunz, as some call her, is known for her many talents, photography, directing, and producing are just some of them, another one, maybe a lesser-known one is working out. Scrolling through her analog-heavy Instagram feed with more than 35k followers, it’s clear that her love for standing behind as well as in front of the camera is equally balanced, and we are all here for it. While the Nike LA 13.1 race scheduled for April 5 has been canceled and preparing for the half-marathon is put on hold, the steady feeling of working out has continuously grown with Becky, so we just keep going and asked her about her home workout routines, the importance of training and what the future holds for her.

Becky: hii! I was born and raised in Montreal, moved out to LA just under 8 years ago for work.  I was working for a compnany out in Canada who had their head quarters out in LA. I since then opened up my own production company and work as a photographer and creative out her.

SNS: Tell us a little bit about yourself - where are you from, what do you do for work?

wowwww, Where do I begin? I come from a pretty big family. I am the youngest of 7 kids, 5 of them being brothers, all athletic. So competition and sports were always a part of my life. Huge tomboy having my brothers being an influence on me. I grew up playing soccer and in high school I started playing rugby. I continued to play soccer and rugby for club and for school during my teenage years. When college came around, I had to choose to play for either the soccer team or the rugby team because they were in the same season. I chose rugby and still to this day play it. Even moving from Montreal, I found a club out here and now play for the santa monica club team. it has been 14 years since I started this sport and love it still.  Occasionally I will play on an intramural soccer team here.   Hot yoga is also something that I practice as much as I can during the week. At first I was only open to sculpting yoga because I thought that was the only way to challenge myself but now I realize the benefits of all types of yoga and try to practice a different one every time I go in.

Psst! We think you're browsing from United States?

Honestly, I has been hard to be motivated to work out at home. I am someone that needs to be really focused in order to work out, At home there are tons of distractions. The only thing I have been able to bring myself to do is going on runs.

Has the current situation affected how you navigate through your field of work and what has been the biggest challenge?

It totally has, My whole work is being on set and that is obviously not able to happen. I have also been thinking about the after affects on this and coming preparing for how the work environment will be changing after this. Luckily i have some clients that I am still doing  work for and we are coming up with creative ways to put out content during this time.  That has been a big challenge because you are limited to what you can do but you still have to put stuff out there.
