Where 'Dawson's Creek's Joshua Jackson Stands with Ex Katie Holmes Today

Over two decades since the Dawson’s Creek’s season’s finale put the Pacey, Joey, and Dawson love triangle to rest, Jackson opened up about how his former co-stars have reconnected while supporting James Van Der Beek—who announced he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer last November—through his health battle.

"Busy [Philipps] and Michelle [Williams] are very, very close," he said, adding, “And Katie and I are very close."

That comment might come as a surprise considering Holmes previously shared she wasn't aware of a long-running Dawson’s Creek WhatsApp group chat. However, Jackson emphasized that the former co-stars have stayed close despite not always being in regular contact.

"It's not a daily call. Sometimes it's not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call. But when you're together … there's always that, like, I know you know," he explained.

The actor shared that the cast’s shared history has also kept them extremely close. "There is, you know, these moments, like, these major moments in life are, like, other than your husband, there's probably no other people in your life that you are that forged to," he added. "Independently you had to go through good and bad, and happy and fuck you, and don't talk to me and I love you."

Jackson has previously shared that the cast “went their separate ways” and “didn’t speak for years” before Van Der Beek’s announcement. However, he told host Jesse Tyler Ferguson on Tuesday that the Dawson’s Creek alums instantly came together to rally behind the actor when the news of his cancer diagnosis went public.

"James is going through something really, truly terrible right now,” he explained. “And I wish I could take credit for this, but I was kind of the absentee partner here, but the girls all got together and were like, 'We need to do something to help this guy out.’”
