L3: My name is L3, I’m a rapper from south-east London and a part of Essie Gang.

SNS: Thank you for taking the time to sit down with us. One question we like to ask everybody is about their current sneaker rotation - what does yours consist of?

L3: The triple black Nike shox are definitely in my rotation. I’d also say the triple black Supreme Air Max 95’s, as well as the Basement x Nike Air Max 90 London colourway.

SNS: You stated that you’re a rapper, but we know that you produce and are heavily involved in the production sides of thing also. Which did you start first, and how did you develop into being able to do both?

L3: I started rapping firstly, but as time went on I begun to realise that there was a sound that I wanted to bring out in every song that I did. Now, I always sit very closely with the producers I work with, and alter beats with them to get that sound out.

SNS: Do you find that your creative process changes when writing & recording compared to when producing?

L3: Not necessarily, I feel like it’s the same. Majority of the time, I fit the beat to the flow that I decide to go with. Really and truly they go hand in hand in my opinion.

SNS: Who, or what, would you say are your biggest influences?

L3: Of course my gang family Essie Gang! But I have a lot of other influences such as Skepta, Young Thug and Lil Wayne. I also tend to listen to a lot of 90’s music and jazz rap.

SNS: You recently dropped a new track called “Ignorant”, tell us a bit about that…

L3: Thank you, I created & dropped “Ignorant” to shed light on the ignorant ways that myself, or others, may possess. It was produced by Honeywood Six, and I performed the track in a falsetto voice to sit comfortably with the heavy 808 from Honeywood.

SNS: And we also saw a preview for a new song in the second part of the video, when can we expect to see that released?

L3: SNS link up with L3 Split IMG + TXT 1!

SNS: As you mentioned previously you are a part of Essie Gang. As a collective, you guys had some notable performances last year, especially after dropping “Pattern Chanel” - which performance would you say was your favourite, and why?

L3: You recently dropped a new track called Ignorant, tell us a bit about that, no doubt. Manchester has always shown me love as a solo rapper, so to see thousands of people come out and show love to me and my Gang was amazing.

SNS: Talking of you as a solo rapper, we saw you feature on Skepta’s new track which also dropped recently. What can we expect to see from you in the next 6-12months?
