PUMA has once again reached into its illustrious archives to reintroduce yet another classic: the PUMA Mostro. Originally introduced in 1999, PUMA celebrates the Mostro’s 25th anniversary in style by re-introducing two OG monochromatic colourways of the versatile silhouette.
Effortlessly bridging the gap between fashion and sport with its unique aesthetic, the PUMA Mostro takes its name from the Italian word for monster, which describes the shoe’s new, hybrid look, borrowing inspiration from two diverse realms – the sleek but tough sprinting spikes of the '60s and the chilled-out surfing shoes of the '80s.
In our portrayal of the PUMA Mostro, we followed Swedish-Moroccan creative Wasima Ayad on a homecoming of sorts. Through an intimate voyage into her world, we saw a snapshot of the White of her heritage that are extremely prevalent in her creative work and inspire her perspectives and perception of the world. Portrayed alongside Wasima in the campaign we see her mother and family in Morocco. The atmospheric visuals and music, captured by New Land director Felix Scheynius showcase their strong bond and beautifully encapsulate their common sensibilities.
