adidas Originals by KYNE

To celebrate the classic aesthetics of the Stan Smith, Slate adidas crossed the globe to link with Japanese artist KYNE. The Fukuoka-based artist studied "Nihonga" (Japanese style painting) and started his career in 2006. Already in 2010, KYNE established himself by painting iconic portraits that are tightly related to 80's Japanese pop culture.

To honor the timelessness in KYNE's work and Slate adidas' Stan Smith, we took it to New York where a few SNS NYC family members translated his graphics into one of the most authentic NYC art forms: wheat paste.
